BMW Proactive Care is an innovative, AI-powered technology designed to help your BMW anticipate service and maintenance needs and alert you before they become an issue.


For years, BMW vehicles—when customers grant permission—have securely shared service-related data with their preferred BMW Service Center. This has allowed service advisors to better prepare for customer visits. Until now, however, it was up to the customer to initiate contact.

With Proactive Care, BMW can now take the first step by reaching out to you directly through a notification in the My BMW app, an in-vehicle message, an email from your preferred service center, or even a call from BMW Roadside Assistance.


Currently, BMW Proactive Care supports features such as digital tire diagnostics, fault notifications, and maintenance alerts. As the technology continues to evolve, it will expand to cover an even broader range of services—further enhancing the overall BMW ownership experience.


What Does BMW Proactive Care Mean for You?
In simple terms, Proactive Care helps eliminate uncertainty around vehicle service and potential issues by keeping you informed ahead of time. You’ll receive timely notifications when attention is needed, helping you stay one step ahead. That said, we still recommend visiting our Service Center at least once a year or every 10,000 miles for routine maintenance and a comprehensive vehicle check. While Proactive Care works quietly in the background monitoring your BMW’s condition, our service professionals are here to ensure everything continues to perform at its best.


Which BMW Models Offer Proactive Care?
BMW Proactive Care is available on all BMW models equipped with BMW Operating System 7 or newer (as of 07/2019). To take advantage of this feature, customers must have an active BMW ConnectedDrive contract and register their vehicle in the My BMW app or via the My BMW portal on bmwusa.com using their BMW ID, with contact details saved.
